Hi there,

Are you finding straight-up video news too tough for you to handle? Why not start with something a little easier?

Over at BBC's Learning English site, there is a section called Words in the News. You can read the news transcript while you listen to it, and there are useful vocabulary items highlighted in the text with extra explanations below the article. A very useful resource!

Good luck with it,

~ Jason

Is there any sites where I can watch world news for free? Not just news by news, I mean the whole channel

Hi Kwanghoon,

Your wish is my command!

http://www.onlinenglish.net/iView.html

At that link, you can watch all the latest and also previous news stories across a variety of news channels - all in one browser! My personal favorite is the National Geographic channel, but there is also CNN, BBC, Reuters, NY and Washington Post, and Discovery Channel.

Hope you like it, and great to hear you want to practice your listening skills on your own!

I been reading a lot of your post and articles related to TOEFL. I am doing the iBT TOEFL test in 28 days, and I am very nervous about my writing!

Another tip I got for the listening part...is to listen radios in English. I personally use http://www.1010wins.com/
Is a little bit hard at the beginning but after a while you can understand everything.

thanks for an extremely great blog, pages, tips & tricks!!!!

Wow! What a great website it is! It is amazing! I found it very fun to watch some videop clips in there. Frankly speaking, reading all the news articles are a little boring, however, watching those vides are more fun and interesting. So this would be a great help for students who are not familiar with written texts like me, hehe. Thank you for your tip!! lol

What a good news it is! Although I know some sites that have news with transcript but I didn't know BBC has that too, I think while hearing the news we can experience the English accent. Thanks for sharing good impormation!
