This movie looks really really cool! I'm a big fan of Will Smith, and each new movie he does seems to be better than the last one.

Watch the preview clip below and let the world know what you think of this movie!

There is also a lot of interesting natural dialogue in the preview clip. I'll make some extra posts below to help you test your listening skills one step at a time.

Hi Carloh,

Thanks for tyring out some answers to the quiz questions. How about responding to each question individually? That way I can correct and comment on each one in its own thread. To do that, hit the green "reply" button to the bottom right of each quiz question post (instead of going to the bottom and posting under the pink bar - which is a response to the entire topic).

Thanks,

~ Jason

they exchanged heavy gun fires each sides, might be between the police and gasters...
And they need a back up to support the police.

Yes, that's right. Heavy gunfire is being exchanged, and the police are requesting back-up.

Just a little more language explanation here for you:

With gunfire, we use that term as a collective noun, so you won't see it in the plural (as in no gunfires), nor with an indefinite article (so never "a gunfire).

Same with back-up... It is not used with plural forms or indefinite articles. It is a collective noun.

Good work!

Very good. Yes, he says:

"Fellas... listen. Give yourselves up - quietly."

Fellas is the casual/slang form of "fellows". It is quite common in casual language, and basically means the same as "guys".

Hope that helps!

Good try!

She actually says:

"I can smell that liquor on your breath."

Liquor means alcohol, so the woman is saying that he smells like alcohol, as in, it is clear he has been drinking.

Best,

Quiz Question 6:

Try to write down the dialogue that you hear in the part where Hancock lands in the street and talks with the three children (one of whom he throws high into the air).

Girl:

Hancock:

(Hancock throws the girl high into the air)

Hancock (to the fat boy):

Hancock (to the boy with glasses):

Man (walking towards Hancock):

(Hancock catches the girl out of the sky, who runs away crying for her mother)

Hancock (to the girl as she moves away):

Man (to Hancock, shaking his head):

See how much of that you can manage to catch and write down!

Best of luck with it,

~ Jason
