"Talk"
Oh brother I can't, I can't get through
I've been trying hard to reach you, cause I don't know what to do
Oh brother I can't believe it's true
I'm so scared about the future and I wanna talk to you
Oh I wanna talk to you
You can take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?
Tell me how do you feel?
Well I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak
And they're talking it to me
So you take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun
Or a write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Do something that's never been done
So you don't know were you're going, and you wanna talk
And you feel like you're going where you've been before
You tell anyone who'll listen but you feel ignored
Nothing's really making any sense at all
Let's talk, let's ta-a-alk
Let's talk, let's ta-a-alk
Thanks for telling me a new singing group.
It was fun to watch. I watched it twice, but at first I couln't match
the lyrics and video. But in second time, I could understand a little bit about it.
But I don't know my understanding is right or not.
Also, at the end of mosic video, that robot ate the space shuttle. Why did he
do that? Did he feel lonely? Didn't he want to let them go and be left alone?
Anyway,..... he looks so solitary........Poor him!!
Anyway, it looked like a science fiction someway.
Hi Jihyun,
It's so great to see you posting here!
It's great that you listened a couple of times to practice matching the lyrics in writing and listening. That's a great way for you to practice.
As for the video clip, I guess it's supposed to be a little comical. You may notice that when the band first finds the giant robot, they take one of the big dials from the robot's chest and place it inside the drum. This appears to activate the robot. At the end, the robot appears to be trying to switch itself off, and reaches for the dial and finds it gone. This makes the robot angry, so he reaches out and grabs the band's spaceship and gobbles it up...
The robot story is also slightly related to the song lyrics, with the idea of it being lonely and isolated, with no one to talk to.
That's my interpretation, anyway.
