Olympic fireworks over Beijing

Aug. 03 - Fireworks light the Beijing sky as China rehearses in preparation for the start of the Olympics.

As well as the opening ceremony to be held at the "Bird's Nest" National Stadium, a huge fireworks display will also be held on Tiananmen square next Friday (August 8) to mark the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Penny Tweedie reports.

Hi friends J I just wanted to say that I have watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Beijing and it was really a spectacular ceremony. The Chinese people have proved to the world that they are really able to take the responsibility of such a great event, although they faced some problems regarding the internal security (the terroristic attacks against some people) in the country right before the great event. The opening ceremony was really a piece of work. Not only the firework show but also every item of the ceremony was a breath taking. China is a great country that has a great history and awesome diverse cultural backgrounds. So, all these aspects were obvious in the ceremony and the Chinese were able to show this fortune brilliantly.  So, as we know the Chinese people are the masters of the fireworks, and we can say that firework show on the ceremony was splendid. It was extremely dazzling and marvelous show. At the end of my comment, I would like to send a huge greeting to the great people of China, who had the honor to contribute in prospering the Olympics, and were really great hosts of a great event.  Thanks a bunch. Oh, she speaks British English so I am difficult to understand all of what she says. But I understood roughly. I like seeing fireworks. When our university held a festival, there is also fireworks time. I watched it and it was very impressing! But maybe Olympic fireworks over Beijing is much more bigger than it. I heard China spent lots of money on fireworks. If I was there, I would take a memory that I can't forget in my life. Anyway, it was very impressing fireworks.
