Parents and teachers make many rules for children to encourage good behaviour and to protect them from danger. However, children would benefit from fewer rules and greater freedom.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Parents and teachers always want all the best things coming to their children .Hence, many rules are made to encourage children's good behavior and protect them from danger. From my point of view, however, not lots of rules but fewer rules with more freedom would do children better because of the following reasons.
First of all,no one can deny that it is good for children to develop in a natural way which can not be held back by many rules.Children need more freedom to develop naturally as well as enjoy their life fully, certainly ,such enjoyment should be orientated by some rules.Taking my case as an example,my parents never force me to follow many rules, just only several needed regulations to orient my proper behavior. Now,at the age of 20,to some extent,I totally feel confident in my way of behaving.
Secondly, children's mantality and their health are also affected so much when having to abide by many rules. With a mass of tough rules, they seem to be pushed into an appressive air. That is why lots of children tend to be self-obtained or stressful. Unexpectedly, such cases increase considerably nowadays . According to a recent newspaper, one mother tried to protect her child from danger by banning him from playing with other children .However, things went back on her wish when he started to manifest lots of unusual action such as only sitting in the darkroom, being scared when seeing strange people.
In conclusion, while rules are neceesary to control children's behavior,I would argue that children are not in need of too many rules. Fewer rules and greater freedom would bring more benefits to them.

The way of life today can be dedicated exclusively for work. Nowadays, a lifestyle suggests a job for the betterment of status in life or a career to define one's power over the society. In comparison, living in early years were more focused in family matters than in latter years. I therefore accede with the statement that a child is more likely to face neglect by their parents.

One of the common problem a family encounters is a lack of money. Financial incapabilities forces both parents to work on regular basis. This situation leaves a child on daycare institution or babysitters at home resulting a deficient nurture from parents. This period may be dangerous to their childen as a substitute for parental supervision is jeopardized.

On contrary, family before lived a simplier life. With conventional role in the family, a mother only stays at home to maintain a house and to guide her child. Expenses before were much frugal and a single parent can establish a stable income for his family. Children's need for affection and guidance have been attained with these reasons.

In conclusion, leaving a children in neglect to satisfy today's modern lifestyle may endanger their lives. A parental guidance is so powerful that must be establish in a child's life. Both parents must think on alternative solution to accomodate a child's attention to rightful growth and affection.

Rules are always obstacles for freedom. Imagination is the key to Innovation which , comes from freedom of thinking .In short, rules and regulations though made with an intention to protect children from danger ,it ends up restricting the development of children with independent thoughts . Besides ,children brought up under rules and regulations often have low self confidence .In addition, they lack the ability to explore .Hence, end up with carrier’s that they don’t like.

Firstly, Innovation is the key for future generations. Everything in our world is liable to change and development .”Change” is inevitable , perhaps an author has quoted that “the only thing that remains constant in this world is “Change”.In this competitive world of change ,if children are brought up in a restricted environment , their thoughts or imagination get bound by limitations .For example , the scientist Albert Einstein had a good environment where his creative thinking was appreciated which speaks volumes on his achievment’s.

Another aspect , self confidence is very vital for the survival in this tough world ,where half a mark in an exam or an interview decides the outcome of the decision.Self confidence is very much evident in every gesture a candidate makes.Children whose upbringing involved the restriction of every action and constistent critisicm in their lives rarely involves high self confidence. For example, an author Ayn Rand in the book atlas shrugged has stated that children with low self esteem and confidence are often those who had a hostile upbringing.

Lastly, exploring new ways of doing the same thing or exploring for a good carrier always is beneficial for a bright future .Jobs with high salaries, good image, less Strain are achievable only with good research ,which is not possible without an attitude for exploration. For example, my friend ended up becoming a lawyer as per his parents wishes .His father is a lawyer so he wanted his son to be a lawyer too.My friend is very creative and wanted to become a artist .Though he is making good money but he is not happy.

In conclusion, if other ways of protecting the children from danger are explored then rules are not needed to keep them restricted. As rules affect the upbringing of children they should be implemented wisely.

I would say 4.0 ~ 5.0 on the IELTS scale. Punctuation and language use obscure precise meaning in many parts, main ideas are a little vague and not supported all that well.

All the best,

On the iBT scale? Most probably 3.0 - 3.5 (out of 5.0).

Make sure you do a lot of reading around the forum, noting the good essays you find. Respond to them, pointing out what you like or agree with. Doing so drives your "writing brain" and helps you to remember good writing devices and approaches, as well as sharpening your "writer's instinct."

Oh - and one quick correction for you (only because I've seen dozens of people in this forum make the same mistake!), you are "taking" the TOEFL, not "giving" it. Remember: "take a test", "get a score"...

All the best,

~ Jason

Parents and teachers usually try to control their children to protect and educate. There are different views over the issue of setting rules.

Parents and teachers play very important roles in children’s development. To ensure that children are raised in the right way their parents and teachers usually give many rules for to follow. Children at their ages could not know exactly what consequences can happen after their wrong activities. Thus, parents and teachers need many rules to protect their children from bad activities and dangers. For example, many children don not want to go to school; they spend all their times on watching TV or playing games. Parents and teachers need force them to come back school because education is indispensible in human life. In addition, elder people with various experiences can set many practical rules which will be very useful for their children in the future. For example, parents make their children obey timetable seriously, this action can make people be familiar with planning for their work. Consequently, it could become a good habit which is useful for their children. Moreover, children will meet a variety of different rules in their future life. Giving many rules for children is one of the good ways to make them be acquainted with these rules and also prevent them from dangers. For example, parents and teachers do not allow children under 18 to drive motorbike. This action not only helps children to obey the laws but also prevent them from dangerous accidence.

Giving many rules is not always the best way to educate; children also need more freedom to make their own decision. There is no doubt that the life is always changing and there are a lot of differences between generations. Thing banned in past many be allowed at the present. Rules suitable in elder generation might not be accurate for their children. For example, many parents and teacher forbid children to access the internet because of bad influences. Nevertheless, by forgetting internet parents and teachers may lose one of the best tools which can bring a lot of knowledge and useful information for their children. Moreover, children need more freedom instead of rules to develop their creativeness. When the elder give children may rules, following rule become habit and children do not dare to do anything because for fear of punishment.  Children might depend too much on their parents, teachers. Giving them more freedom means bringing them a chance to discover the world by themselves and improving their self-confidence and creativeness. Furthermore, children might feel tired with many rules created by their parents and teachers. For example, many children forced to do too much homework beyond their ability. They have no time for other activities. In reality, many children were hospitalized for depression because of stress at school.

In conclusion, parents and teachers should find suitable method of raising their children and teaching them rather than giving them many rules. In reality, children need encouragement and guidance instead of rules. In my opinion, elder should give more freedom to their children to not only develop their creativeness skill but also develop themselves comprehensively.
