Dear Jason,
When practising TOEFL iBT, I find that note-taking is very important in alsmost every section of the test. Please give me some guidance to take notes efficiently because when I try to write down an idea, I obviously miss some others of the conversations or lectures.
Moreover, when I have to face off an unfamiliar topic like zoology or astronomy, I got into a panic immediately because it's very difficult to catch the key words.
Thanks for your instruction.

Hi cin,

I completely agree with you about the importance of taking notes, especially in the integreted writing and speaking sections. Students do not have enough time to write down the lecture word for word. And I have no idea how to "abbreviate" english words. I always feel like if I do not write the word as it is suppose to be written, I will later forget the meaning of what I wrote. Therefore, JASON, CAN YOU PLEASE provide us with a list of some English words abbreviation? I tried to be creative and I write " in+" for " in addition". This saves me time, I also write "1st" for " first"...But, I need more of these little tricks that can help a lot when you don't have much time to take notes. PLEASE, give us some insight in the English short version for certain words that are used frequently...

And thanks, cin, for mentioning this typical problem that many of us, preparing for iBT, are facing. As soon as I sow the topic " note taking skill", I clicked on it. I wish you luck for your test...
