N Korea to restart nuclear plant

Sep 19 - A North Korean official has confirmed that work has begun to reassemble the country's main nuclear plant after an international aid-for-disarmament deal stalled.

The secretive communist state agreed to give up its atomic ambitions in return for aid and an end to its international isolation. But Pyongyang says the U.S. has violated the deal after its failure to remove North Korea from a terrorism blacklist. But Washington insists it will only remove North Korea from the list once the state allows inspectors to verify claims it made about its nuclear arms production, but the two sides are at odds over the verification process.

Helen Long reports.

In my opinion, North Korea actually has no technologies to make any kind of nuclear weapons at all. They just want us to believe that they are able to make nuclear weapons because they need something from us. So I think what they are trying to do is that they want us to be scared. So they can get easily what they want from us.

By restarting such that work, I think they are trying to show that they are still strong. Considering recent jeongilKim's health problem, it is true that many countries have much concern about the North Korea and wonder the nation's forward situation and future. So, it seems that they pretend to be not weak, making other countries still feel afraid of them.

Hi everybody!
It seems that an agreement on nuclear matter between N.Korea and USA was not honored. Vague statements made both parties blame each other for failing to carry out what it was negotiated. N.Korea complains USA did not remove it from the blacklist of terrorists and USA objects that N.Korea did not allow officials to inspect thorough and widely the nuclear plants.
The fact that N.Korea stated that it is going to restart the production of plutonium makes me think if all this back and forth is just a strategic political position to pressure USA to do what N.Korea wants. N.Korea knows it is very important to USA to have control over the manufacturing of nuclear weapons. Maybe, N.Korea see its threat as an opportunity to be not isolated any more, specially when its leader seems to be very ill.
It appeal to me that this issue would state frozen until the new leaders of both countries be elected.
