1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Frankly speaking, I was impressed by the test you made. It is application form of TOEIC speaking test that we already took last week, but it contains distinctive contents more relevant to qualification of English language teachers. So, I think this test is appropriate for assessing English teacher's speaking ability. In addition, it requires more deep comprehension about students from teachers, which is important point for becoming a teacher. At the same time, it also expects future teachers to have professional knowledge and good situation-handling ability. Considering this, I think we need this kind of test for appreciating teacher's speaking ability rather than current system.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

As you know, this test is some question types like other tests as well, so, I think, it is possible to prepare it properly. First, to prepare not only the section A but also other sections, it is needed to have exercise for better pronunciation and intonation. For the section B, with basic language rules accompanied, getting familiar with various describing expressions would be helpful for future teachers. Of course, as a future teacher, it is surely needed to have professional knowledge on English, especially on lexis and grammar, and to experience various ways of learning to prepare the section C. In preparing section D, understanding student's problem and giving them encouraging advices are essential points to teachers, so it is needed to expect those kind of situation and prepare various valuable advices. And section E requires us to know about various teaching methodology and concepts. So we should learn these things, making our own ideas about the concepts. Lastly, to prepare section F and G, we should always aware of various school problems; they can be classroom problems related to student's learning English, and overall English education system in our country.

This is just a test, so it inevitably has some type of questions to solve. Therefore, I think with overall speaking proficiency and hardworking attitude, we can prepare this test strategically.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Overall, I felt this test is more difficult than TOEIC speaking test. But especially, question 10 of the section D is difficult for me because it wasn't easy to guess about what is reason of the student's problem and suggest valuable advices quickly. There was no preparation time. I just needed more time to think and make some advices because I think advice should be helpful and encouraging to student, and also be valuable.

Thanks for reading my response!

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?
Definitely. I think nobody can say "No". Actually, this kinds of situation can always happen in real life as a teacher. In those situations we have to explain to the students in short time, because there are many students and we, as a teacher, don't have much time to explain about some questions to just one student. I think an answer that is brief, but have a heart of the question is very important in the classroom.
Also, In Korean English education system, we don't have any chance to prepare for these kinds of situations. A new teacher can be embarrassed by this kinds of questions. Some students can ask us those kinds of questions.
But, I think the fact that we had to record in the exact time(30 sec or 1 min) gives us lots of pressure. And in the real classroom, we are not forced to explain about it in 30 seconds. Anyway, as a student, I had to follow the direction because it's just a test.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?
For section one, I think just reading a lot is the only solution. Section one is about reading skill. When we read much we can improve our reading skill. For section two, I'll take a look at all the pictures in my album. I'll try to describe all of the pictures in my album. It's just a practice and when I repeat it, I'll have confidence. For section three, I'll review all the grammar points. All concepts or specific things about grammar will help me to explain. For section four, I think I have to study about composition such as "how to write better?" Then, I would know many things about writing, I would also know how to correct my students. For section five, about teaching methodology, I think there's no way but think a lot. If we think about that kinds of situations a lot, we would have some solutions. For section six and seven, I think if I work for an academy, that would help me to solve the problem, because, to solve the problem, first I have to know the situations that is happening in real classroom. Then I can understand the problem of the students, I can come to the solution.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?
The most difficult part for me was about describing a picture. Actually, I think describing a picture doesn't mean that I have to explain what is shown in the picture. I also have to add my personal opinion about the picture. If the picture was about just around me, I would have no difficulty about that. But I don't know what is happening in the picture and why. So it was very difficult for me to add my personal ideas about the picture cause I have never been to the US or other countries where I can see tornadoes. I don't know why they were chasing tornadoes, I just explained what is happening in the picture.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

I think all of the contents are appropriate for English Language teachers. First of all, it is consisted of various parts which can happen in real school life. Whenever I recorded the answer in each questions, I was very nervous because I considered as a real situation. In real schoollife, no one knows what situation happened, so it is useful to check our flexbility about coping with sudden situation. And from part E, it gives the opportunity to think our proper teaching method once again. All of us may think these questions, but we don't have any chances to express our opinions. So it can be helpful to explain our thoughts correctly through this test.
Therefore, I think this test is appropriate for English Language teachers.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

In case of part A, it needs repetitive practice reading loudly. And I will record my voice and then listen to my pronunciation and readin speed. If I prepare part A like that way, it will be helpful to recognize my fault in reading English dialog or text. In case of part B, it needs the same way as part A. That is, continuous practice is the best thing to prepare using each lesson's pictures or grammer charts. But from part C to part G, actually I don't know how I would prepare. The only thing I can do is to remind my schoollife when I was middle/high school students or to imagine various situations which can happen in ordinary life. Then I can think lots of methods to cope with, so I can train my flexibility. Another thing I can do is to communicate with peers who have same dream with me as much as possible. Then I will get many ideas that I couldn't think.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

In my case, part B is the most difficult part for me to take a test, especially explaining grammar charts. Of course, presented grammar charts are easy to us. When I read this question at first, I didn't think it is difficult to explain. But it was quite different from what I knew, because I had to explain those grammar charts not to my friends but to my students. So I wondered if students can understand easily while listening my explanation. But if I can practice explaining grammar charts like that in English continuously, my teaching English skills will develop.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Yes, I think it’s very helpful to everyone, even a person who is good at English. This test has many realistic situations like teaching English in English and advising to students or colleagues. For example, a situation that a student asks some question or wants to get advice suddenly will be able to happen anytime after I become a teacher. Although this test is very challenging to me, I felt more prepared to become an English teacher through this test. And I think not only dealing with realistic teaching situation but also expressing my opinion about teaching English was a good experience. While I answered the question, I could arrange my thought about teaching English as a potential English teacher and build my future value when I become a teacher. I think anyone who wants to be a teacher should do this test before they become a teacher because it reflects real education society and can make their views about English Education.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

Section A is just reading the scripts. It looks easy. But it needs exact pronunciation and accent. So I have to practice reading the passage correctly. Section B is describing visual learning aids. I think good introduction makes a class having good quality. At introduction of the class, it will be very useful to have an ability of explaining what a picture wants to say. To improve the ability, developing skills of observing daily things is very important. In addition, explaining what students must learn is another important ability to get a good score in this section. So, I must have the ability to explain what I know to people. When I prepare section C, I have to be prepared with English knowledge because I don’t know when the students ask me a difficult question. So, I study harder. In case of section D, I should have the quick eye to distinguish what students did well and poor. So, it will be good to give feedback to others in daily life in preparing this section. Section E is discussing teaching methodology. In this part, it is important to have your own opinion about English education. So, it can be useful to think about methodology in daily life. Section F and G is providing a language teaching solution. It is also giving your opinion to others but these sections are different from section E because section F and G give you specific situation to you. So, in this part, you need the ability of expressing your opinion and understanding the situation.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

I think section D is the most difficult part in this test because it require not only the ability of catching a mistake in students essay and speech but also the ability of giving a feedback to them. It was very hard to do two missions at the same time. It requires not just 4 skills of English but advanced skills in that I have to give feedback to students. But it was very rewarding task because I felt achievement when I found some mistakes in student’s essay and speech. So, I think section D is the most difficult part but the most exciting part.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Actually, I was very surprised for Jason to make the test like these because I've never experienced these kinds of tests! Considering the characteristics of this test, it is very appropriate and useful for English learners and English language teachers. In other words, on the one hand, this test is very interesting and curious because all of the questions are dealing with meaningful subjects and issues related to real situations (in the school). So, these kinds of questions can be raised anytime if we are English teacher. On the other hand, it needs many English integrated skills (such as listening and reading) and other independent skills, that is, considering the other people(students and teacher)'s situations and speaking politely fitting to each conditions. Of course, both skills and strategies are very necessary for (future) English teachers. I think this kind of test may help the teachers' skill in relation with English speaking skills and the strategies of presenting our opinions for other people and a variety of situations.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

I think, for preparing for each section, we need 4 skills or strategies.
First of all, what is important is competent "speaking skill" in English because this test is speaking test in the "literal meaning". So we usually have to make an effort to improve English speaking skill in order to express what they want to speak for given questions and sections.
Secondly, we need to control the time. As you can see, each section has given time limited. This is a strict rule and exact promise adapted to everyone taking a test. So, we can also try to have an ability to deal the time in order to answer the each section and question coherently.
The third strategy is "practice" for answering the kinds of questions as we are in front of our students or talk with our colleague teacher. Of course it is good attitude to imagine as if we are in situation of classroom and of having conversation with students and other teachers in ordinary times.
Last, the most important thing is, I think, we must usually have attitudes to think and to have questions about a variety of school problem and students' or other same teachers' worries. So, when we face the problems things like, we are able to answer the questions easily and meaningfully.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Actually, except question 1 and 2, the others were very difficult for me because I had to consider both speaking in English and controlling time, of course, the issues and topics in each sections and questions were not easy. Among them, what was the most difficult for me was question 12 and 13 because those problems were dealing with English language teaching "methodology". Above all, it was not easy to talk about "teaching methodology" I was not accustomed to. Although I had enough seconds to read the passage and am permitted to take notes while I read, I could not understand the text perfectly, so it was very difficult to speak the contrast between multiple and integrated skills and to present example for the integrated skills. It was also a kind of burden to respond immediately after I heard the question. In addition, because no additional preparation time was provided, it is much more difficult to answer those questions for me.

Thank you for reading my opinions!

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Definitely, yes. I think the content and task presented in this test are thoroughly designed to measure teachers' English speaking abilities. Last week, we took a TOEIC FLEX speaking test that you have prepared. I thought that the test (TOEIC FLEX) is very practical and effective in measuring students' speaking abilities. In this time, TOEIC FLEX speaking test (for English Language teachers) contains contents that are closely related to teaching English. The mechanism of the two tests is similar, but the test for English Language teachers is more geared toward assessing speaking abilities needed in class. What is good about this test is that it covers various situations that are very likely to happen in the working environment for teachers. I think this test can be a guideline for prospect teachers who want to improve their speaking abilities.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

In the test, section A requires us to read a paragraph and a dialogue out loud. Reading books or articles out loud will help us to get better at pronunciation and intonation. Also, shadowing might help as well, since it gives us lots of practice with the sounds, stress patterns and overall rhythm of English. In section B, we have to describe a picture and to introduce a grammar or key language chart. In order to give more detailed description, it is important to learn a wide range of expressions. However, it is important not to just memorizing expressions or vocabularies. Being able to use those expressions in the right place is the key. Also, in order to explain or introduce a grammar chart effectively, we have to be familiar with grammatical terms. In section C, we have to respond to student questions. In this section, no preparation time is given, so it will be very helpful answering a set of practice questions with no preparation time. Also, some student questions in this section are related to grammar and vocabulary, so it is important to be well aware of grammar rules. In section D, we have to give feedback to students. In order to give feedback on a writing sample, speeches, we should be able to find out mistakes and give some suggestions. With friends or colleagues, sharing writings and giving feedback to each other would help us to get used to giving effective and helpful feedback. Section E consists of questions related to teaching methodology. It would be best to be aware of methodology beforehand, so when seeing an excerpt during the test, we know what we are dealing with. Also, improving quick note taking skills will help us to write down key words or information in the excerpt. Finally, section F measures whether we are able to provide a language teaching solution to colleagues. It is important that we have proper listening skills to understand and recognize the problem presented. To provide good solutions, we have to think about possible problems that might face us when teaching English and try to come up with solutions. This will not only help us get high scores, but also make us more prepared to become competent English teachers.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Personally, section F was the most difficult for me. In this section I had to give a solution to one of my colleague teachers. I was able to identify and understand what his problem was. However, trying to come up with a good solution was very difficult, since honestly, I have never thought about this kind of problem. How to make grade 7 students want to do interactive talking in English without talking with their partners in Korean. I could not really think of any great solutions to this problem. If this were a real test, I would not be able to speak for 60 seconds. I am so glad that this was not an actual test.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

I DO think that the content and tasks in this text are appropriate for English Language teachers. According to the Englih Education system in Korea, both students and teachers have no chances to practice conversation in English since English teachers are not well-trained. When students ask them one thing in English, they need to understand what the problem is and also need to give them the proper answers in English. Teachers need to practice speaking English in this situation. And this is the thing that teacher should use before they get into the classroom. Teachers have fear. They don't want to show their mistakes in front of their students. If so, why don't they start to practice with this program? It is a definitely useful method to improve English skill for English Language teachers.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

First, I will tell you how I prepared for other kinds of test. When I went to PAGODA Kangnam for a few months, I took TOEFL class. There was a super-popular-teacher for writting part. He gave students perfect model answers for each 150 questions. And he made students memorize it perfectly. I thought that would be very good way to get a high score in a short time. It helped me to get high score on the test, but not helpful for improving my English a lot. What I'm telling is 'memorizing', which is the only way to study in Korea, won't work either for your score on this test or for your English skill. I suggest that 4-5 people make their own answers for each question, and share their ideas, while the others timed. People can correct the errors among them. They can be creative and cooperative at the same time. Like in the part A, people can help each other to make their pronunciation more clearly. As long as people share their ideas among them, they can think about one question in many other ways to answer.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Part B was the most difficult sectionfor me. I couldn't set the way to tell a story. I didn't know where to start, and how to make it sounds easy for students. Describing a picture is just fine. But Describing the visual learning aids was way difficult. I had to make the main point that why I'm telling this. and I ha to be well-known the backgrond knowledge also. I guess I mumbled a lot in that section. I think I need to see the model-answer for the question to answer with more accuracy.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?
Sure. I have dreamed of this kind of test actually. Because I have complained about our traditional teaching English method and about the test I have taken too, As we see the content and tasks in Korean Enlgish test.
Thy have just two parts; reading parts and grammar parts.
The latter part have diminished little by little in correspond to a real situation for practical English. But not enough!
It still have weak points at writing and speaking. The test dosn't have any content for writing and speaking. (Listening section sometimes is included)
But this test has all of them(Speaking, Listening, writing and Reading)
It's also good practice to speak English in real life.
The contents you have considered are impressive. The time limit (We don't need to keep it though), reading section, writing section, and so on.
It has many kinds of contents and it's awesome.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

I will register English speaking and writing institution at first. Every day, I practice to speak and write in Enlgish. My studying style will be totally changed. I'll put point in intergrative skills in Enlgish more than just reading Englsih literature and grammar syntactic such as draw diagrams.
All day, I'll speak or mummer in Enlgish listening English songs and English radio on the street. I'll write many English essaies. During boring time I'll enjoy reading a novel in Enlgish and watching a movie without subtitle for korean. It will be more fun. I can enjoy studying English.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?
the difference between 'lend' and 'borrow' and explain about when I should use the 'present perfact' tense.

Because I don't know even the former Q. I'm not native speaker, so surely I don't know the difference. I've never learned about this kind of thing.
So, I have to find out using the dictionary and read it over and over agian.
But It's not sure, so I cannot help but asking my American friend. He answered it very simply. Lend is used when I give you something while borrow is used when I take you something. WoW! It looks easy to him. I've used dictionary English/Korean not Enlish/English, so It's the reason I don't know this answer.
The latter one is what I've known superficially. But It's difficult to explain instatnly.
I've learned this concept by pictures like this : 'past------------present'
But this question asked for explaining without using blackboard. So, it was difficult to make the picture into just words. Actually, I have wondered this question for a long time. Thanks to this test, I get to know the answer more detail by searching on the book,'AZAR' in English version.
I realized that if I want to improve my Enlgish skills and know Enlgish in detail I should learn Enlgish in Enlgish!
It's big realization to me through this test. Thanks Jason for making for us such a good test and realization.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?
Honestly, I don’t think that it is appropriate test for English Language teacher. First of all, way of taking a test will be a problem in that it is possible to cheat. For example, when people take a TOEFL speaking section, everyone takes different time to finish each question. So, if someone decide to cheat a few question, it is not difficult by waiting another says answer. Secondly, Even though it is helpful economically for budget of taking a test, it doesn’t mean measure applicator teachers’ ability to react instantly, leadership and sense of inner intrinsic value. This is why we focus on the speaking ability as an English teacher is students are really good at speaking and a few teachers couldn’t teach English lecture in English. Think about these reasons, taking a test through the Internet system is not enough.
2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?
I am going to study until D section with middle-school text books by practicing teaching it in English. Form E and F are very new to me. May be I should make a study group and then practice it together. Especially for colleague question is difficult for me; I don’t have enough experiences to teach lots of students. So, maybe we should make a possible questions list and the answer ought to follow the teaching methodology books.
Lastly, I should practice this test by recording my voice. It is totally different between recorded voice and live voice.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?
Explaining grammar in English is a little tough, I don’t know I can explain it fully in English, grammar is always considered as forever learning section for students. This difficulty couldn’t solve by explain in English. Even university students sometime need Korean to explain English grammar. Secondly, giving an example for integrated skill activity is really abstract for me. We don’t know basic conditions how to use this activity or how long to use this activity. So, I have no idea what is the key point to answer whether practical or creative. These two sections is difficult for me but this unfamiliar doesn’t mean it is wrong. This new try is good for developing teacher’s ability.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Definitely YES!! I reallly really think that this content is useful for English teachers. Frankly speaking, I was very impressed with your tests, maybe "moved" would be more appropriate in this situation. This test is consists of many possible situations that is probable to happen in real lives of an English teacher. This program not only tests the ability to use English, but also tests the quality of would-be English teachers. I mean those questions are trying to test some othere qualifications that are really needed in a school life like discussing some proplems with their colleagues and making some comments for their students. I think these things are more needed for teachers because just an fluency of using English can't guarantee a better quality of teaching.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?
Wow. It would be challenging for me if I have to prepare for this type of tests. First of all, I think I have to be equipped with confidence. Aside from any other qualifications, if there is no confidence in myself, I can not speak any word at all. It looks a little bit ironic but in order to develop it, I have to have a good command of using English. During the test, I felt heavy in my chest because I couldn't express my ideas as much as I think. After the test, I pondered a while to find why I cound't answere those questions. The problem was that I don't have many expressions that I can use in speaking situations. Actually, I didin't put many efforts on memorizing a lot of expressions. I just studied some vocabularies and words, not useful expressions. So, first, I think I have to memorize many expressions so that at least I can express my ideas to other people.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?
Section D was the hardest part for me. That part requires the ability to react instantly and I think I'm lack of that skill. I had to think as if I were an teacher and I was not accustomed to it. Especially when I had to make some comments for students, I had to build up clear and proper reasons that children can understand and at the same time, I had to consider their feelings. It was quite challinging.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Yes, I think the content and tasks in this test are very appropriate for English Language teacher. Because this test includes the points that as teacher, I have to think in a real teaching situation. especially, Part B is pretty practical way to measure English Language teacher's ablilty. Also this test makes me think the problem of teaching English in English. It means that I used to think the problem of teaching English in korean, but this test makes organize my opinion in English. It also makes the teacher improve English ablilty. Considering these things, this test is very good for English Language teashers.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

In case of part A, it needs exact pronunciation and intonation. So I have to practice reading English text correctly. Part B is to explain a picture and to introduce a table or chart related to language rules. For this part, I'll study expressions related to describing various circumstances and summarize the language rules in English. part C and D is to respond to classroom quetions and to give feedback to students. To give useful and comprehensible answer for the question and feedback for student production and performance, I have to learn more 'English' becuese to answer the question and assess other production and performance needs to high ability of English. Also I have to learn how to deliver my opinion to students effectively. Part E is related to teaching methodology. this part require me to improve quick note taking skills. Part F and G is to give a teaching solution and a professional opinion. I think this part is very difficult for me. Becuase I cauldn't say any solution. I'll study this part hard by thinkin thoruoghly many problems that face me. If I follow the preparations for each part, I would be good at English.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Part F is the most difficult for me. In this part, I have to require a solution. but I didn't know what to say. It is because I close to students, not to teacher. First, my thought limited a student's position. So to give a appropriate solution to one of my colleague teachers, I had to think more and more.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

I think it is appropriate.
Because it is real task we should encountered when we become teacher. So I think it is very practial.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

I wonder other students could reply instantly following professor's direction.
Frankly speaking I couldn't reply instantly or in 30~60second. I should make manuscript, and it took about 20~40minute per each question. I felt frustrated because I couldn't perform according to the professor's direction.
I realized that I'm too short to be a competent teacher yet. So I decided to study very hard.
I think the best way to prepare this exam is to experience and exercise this kind of exam many times. And I know what I especially should exercise is speaking and pronunciation part to be succeed this exam. Exercising conversation and speaking everyday and exposing myself to this kind of exam as much as I can is the best way to prepare it.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

I think Part F was the most difficult part. Because I don't have experience in real teaching situation. So it was difficult for me to pretend as if I had experice in it.
I think this part can be solved after I had experience.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

I think this test is adequate for examine the ability of English teacher. This test involves tasks which could also occur in real stuation.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

For preparing part A, I'd like to practice reading aloud. I should practice not only pronounciation but also how to deliver the contents well. For part B, I have to expand the range of my vocabularies and study grammar deeply to be able to let students understand it easily. For part C, I have to have questions while preparing the class and be ready to explain them to students. For part E, I should improve my grammar and learn how to encourage students.
For part E, I should develop my reading skills as well as backgroud knowledge of education methods. For part Fand G, I have to consider what is the effective way of teaching as mush as I can.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

For me, respond to the students questions was the hardest because I also had no idea about them. I don't like grammar and vocabulary so this results my ignorance. By going though this experience, I felt the importance of them. I decided to study grammar and vocabulary hard.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

I do think the content and tasks in the test are appropriately made to help the teachers in Korea. I was impressed with the TOEIC FLEX Speaking Test can actually see if teachers have the ability to handle the class. English teachers in Korea fail to interact with the students in English most of the time and I think it is really time to change. I always believed teaching English in English is one of the effective way to teach English. By improving the teachers ability to explain class materials and to communicate with the students in English through this test, I am sure some change will be made in the near future.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

If I had to get a good score on this test to get English teaching qualifications, I would practice a lot with the example tests like the ones I did for this mid-term. For the section A, I would apply it to my everyday life and read the news paper out loud. I will focus on three major things: pronunciations, speed, and accent. For the section B, I will work on choosing proper vocabularies at the students' level. For the section C and D, I would try to build up my basic English skills. Maybe I will have to review the grammars since even though you know something really well, explaining them can be sometimes very challenging. For the section E, I would have to read some books regarding English education. Also, searching online for informations about the language teaching would be very helpful. For the last section, which I think is the easiest, I would look back on my school days and see how my teachers would have done in that situation. Plus, if I try to put myself on my collogue's shoe, I believe the problem will be solved easily.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

The section C and D were the most difficult when I had to explain grammatical problems. Frankly, I did not actually learned the grammar properly by the book. So, I have a hard time explaining all those grammatical rules even though I do know how to use or when to use the expression. Since I know that knowing and explaining is a different matter and teaching is what I want to do after I graduate, it is my job to study the grammar from the very basic.

1.Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

In my opinion, it is very appropriate for English Language teachers because contents of this test is practical and plausible situations, namely immediate feedback and answering to student's questions. Through this text, teachers or someone to be teacher can prepare the situation fully. Teachers have to read materials clearly and expertly in front of students, and so they need to practice with this test.

If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

During taking this test, I think that I need to practice this kind of questions first of all. I should read a lot of materials loudly in correct sound and intonation for part A and I have to listen to natives' speech and read materials for reading skill as much as possible. I have to know a lot of vocabularies to express the picture precisely and lively for part B. For part C and D, namely answering to student's question and giving immediate feedback to them, when I study something, I have to think which part of context can be difficult for students and I ask questions to myself and I explain it to me. I have to share my thought with my class mates and need to practice to give feedback to each other. For part E, namely discussing teaching methodology, I decide to read a lot of books referring to teaching methodology and I turn to my professors or my senior teachers according to this problem. For part F and G, it is the most difficult question I think, I have to invent some method to get students' interest and I have to wonder what I can do for it in order to give advises.

3.Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

The part F and G are the most difficult for me because I have not experienced this situation totally, so I have to give answers to questions in the artificial ways. Although I know what is going on our current class; students are not interested with English, I can not make proper judgement yet. So this part is the most difficult for me.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Yes, it is. I was astonished when I got this assignment explanation. After we did the first practice of TOEIC speaking test, I couldn't imagine that Jason gives us this language-teaching-applied version of the test.
Look at the question number 3 and 4. At the TOEIC speaking, it was just a picture-describing task. However, when it is applied at English teaching situation, it becomes the virtual reality in which I am a teacher in front of the classroom. Also, at the question number 5 throuth 10, the test assess my ability to give students appropriate comment related to their situation. Including other questions, the test is adequate and effective way to assess and grow the abilities which teachers need.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

To be honest, I couldn't do this assignment without writing. Actually I'm terrible at speaking impromptu so when I have to speak in front of other people, I have to make the sentence in my head first, and then speak out slowly. So I had to type what to say before I record my answer and I felt embarrassed. I think I have to practice to improvise quickly and appropriately. And also to prepare each section, I think it will be helpful to practice some words used to explain how to use English correctly. One more thing is that finding effective and useful examples for each situation is needed.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

I think section D was the most difficult. As I refered above, I typed before I record. When I make the script for section D, it was impossible that I answer those questions in 30 seconds. I need more than 1 minute to explain to the students what is inappropriate and how to revise it.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?
I think most of questions are good for prepare english class, but some questions are little diffrent from real situation. The reason why most of questions are good is we might encounter the situation in the question when we become teacher. Especially first and second question are good. It is simple but very practical. It may used in class not teach english in english. But I think respond to student questions is diffrent from real situation. Can korean middle school student ask questions in english? I know the goal of the question, but the situation is not realistic.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?
Similar to Yoorichoi, I can't speak answer immidiately. I have to write the things to answer the question, especially question 14. I come up the solutions in my mind, but I feel difficult to express in english. So I think write and speak more is important. Also, think the things in real class is important too. These questions are quite practical. It is diffrent from other english skill test. So it is important to think about real class and students. On part D, teacher should think not only the solution, but feeling of the student.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?
Part G. The qustion is longer then other question, so I should think more things. I should take a note to answer the questions. And I have organize my thinking. It is difficult to organize a thing in english, in short time. So Part D was most difficult part.

1. Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Yes, I do. I think the teacher has to be a professional, a colleague, and a leader of students not only in special subject but also in students’ lives. In other words, teachers have to be able to digest many diverse positions. The contents of this test included diverse situation by different position. And each question was so specific. So it could be practical test to prepare teaching English.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

In fact, it was difficult to me. Actually I prepared for about twenty hours. I have to gather the information in English for each question, write script, read many times. So it will be an only test to take in order to get English teaching qualifications, actually I lost my willing. But if I have to prepare, first, I will have to practice speaking. I can answer every question only through speaking. So even though I have great knowledge and skills, I can’t get any score without speaking in English. And next, I will study many kinds of English teaching methods in detail and train by assumption of diverse situation. In the case of part A, I will practice reading short passages loudly. In the case of part B, I will practice to tell something just like the external situation from writing to speaking. In the case of part C and D, I will get a conversation study group and practice talking about one theme or counsel. In the case of part E, I will study many kinds of teaching methods in detail. In the case of part F, I will grasp the trouble of the real classroom in the English class. In the case of part G, I read the real article about English education everyday.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Part E was the most difficult and let me spend the longest hour to prepare the answer. I don’t have enough knowledge of teaching methods and skills. The given passage had weak information for me to write some information or opinion. So, I have to find the information enough to speak something. It means I have to train as an professional in English.

1.Do you think the content and tasks in this test are appropriate for English Language teachers? Why or why not?

Yes. Actually I have never taken that kind of English test before, so the contents sound strange at first. But while answering the questions, I realized that all those contents of the test are the realistic situations that often take place in classroom. I think it is very practical. While taking the test, I felt like I was really teaching English in classroom.

2. If this were a formal/real test you needed to take in order to get English teaching qualifications or employment, how would you prepare for each section?

I would do a role play as if I were a real English teacher. I think it is practical rather than learning some tricks to get high points. And if it is possible, I will actually teach English in those ways when I teach my students. There can be various situations in school. So, I think the most effective and practical way to prepare for the test is really teaching English naturally some students.

3. Which section of the test was the most difficult for you and why?

Part E was the most difficult to me. I have never experienced that kind of test, and also I don’t have enough knowledge of teaching methodology. Just after taking the test, I thought I should learn not only English but also much knowledge about teaching methodology. It was impressive test.
