Dear students

I'm Jools and I'm originally from Yorkshire in England. I have a Diploma in TESOL and am also qualified to Master's level in another subject. I have nearly 20 years teaching experience, particularly in Academic English and IELTS preparation and I have taught hundreds of students from all over the world. Now I'm teaching at Queensland University of Technology International College in Brisbane. If you need help with your reading, writing, speaking or listening, please post me a message.

Best wishes to you all for the coming year

Dear Jools,

I am having my TOEFL exam on Jan 17. I feel that I am weak in reading and listening section. Can you give me some tips on these two sections.

Regards,

Hi Abangar

I'm not a TOEFL expert, but there are several things you can do to improve your listening and reading skills. For TOEFL test tips, you can try http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/TOEFL/pdf/TOEFL_Tips.pdf

Read American articles in English and reread the articles to help you remember new vocab. One of my students suggests reading the New York Times every day -
their website is: http://www.nytimes.com/. .

Listen to a TOEFL practice test at: http://www.examenglish.com/TOEFL/toefl_listening.htm.

Here are also some more TOEFL CBT listening tips.

All the best with your test!

Jools : )
