Below you will find the top 300 (in order from most commonly used) words from the Academic Word List (AWL). These are commonly featured (and tested for meaning and/or synonyms) in reading and listening texts from TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS, so you should make sure you understand all of them. In addition, these are words you may need to use in the speaking or writing sections, so it's also a good idea to make sure you can pronounce and spell them accurately!

Hi Begul,

Thanks for your contribution. I think this would be better as its own topic in the writing forum. Perhaps you can start a new topic in the TOEFL Writing Lab forum, with the title Example writing topics with outlines. That way people will see it and access it better.

Thanks again,

~ Jason
