meet a famous person from history, what person would you like to meet? Use
specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
No one can deny the effects of any famous character
in the world whether it was it good or bad works, so that they became famous!
As a student myself, I actually remember many famous people who I studied about
in some of history courses. The idea of choosing a famous person to meet with
is really controversial and elusive one. While there would certainly be a
variety of people who is the person that I would like to meet, interestingly I
wish to meet Ibn batota.
This choice based on the facts that Ibn Batota’s
achievements in his tours around the world. Why Ibn batota?
First of all, his strong persistence. Ibn batoa is Arabic
man who born before 700 years and raised in . His family was poor, and
he was in love with traveling. Even though the bad circumstances and the lack
of resources, he persist to travel the world riding his simple horse.
Personally, I believe that it wasn’t easy tour in that time, but his strong
will makes his dreams to become true.
In addition to the first reason, I think that his
written famous book is another important thing. His book’s name is (Tohfat
Elanthar) one of the most important historical books around the world;
describes most of world cities before 700 hundred years ago, also it gives very
important details about geographical features for those visited cities. Many of
scientists still use this book and consider it as important reference.
In conclusion, the strong will deserves any one
respect, especially when it faces many difficulties, but it won at the end.
Moreover, the tangible achievements which found before a while and still people
benefit from it till now, is something deserves the entire world’s respect.
These are some reasons that let me choose this famous man.

Hi Petra, ![]()
I read your essay and I have the following comments:
1) There are some grammatical mistakes that you should try to avoid.
2) Don’t forget to use the articles (a, an, the) as they are important for the sentnce structure.
In general, your essay is good and nice. Just try to focus on the sentence structures and try to read your essay after finishing it in order to correct your grammatical mistakes.
Hope that you don’t mind my comments.
Best of luck to you Petra in your exam.
Note: underlined words should be omitted, words in bold font should be added to your essay and my comments are in italic font.
Thanks.

hi this manjula, any comments would be appreciated and helpful for me; as I am going to take my toefl soon.
If I could travel back into 19th century, I would like to meet Mahathma Gandhi, who was most famous freedom fighter of my country. This is because I first want to know how he could fight with british without any weapon. The second question I want to ask him is that how could he influenced many people to fight for our nation, finally I will try to get his secret of health.
Mahathma Gandhi fought with british; nonviolence as a powerful weapon. I always wonder if he could have killed by british soldiers; how could he dare to face them. He himself was a lawyer and he always wanted peace instead of violence. Now, we have many powerful weapons and nuclear atom bombs; we everyday fight with each other to get more recognition. The man with more weapons or country with more weapons is treated as powerful these days. But Mahathma belived that peace could only be possible with nonviolence. We all should learn from him how to establish peace without any weapons.
Mahathma influenced many people and had followers who gave their life to their country. Many people were sentenced in prisons including Gandhi formany years. People followed him and did whatever he said. For example, when he called to aradicate the use of foreign cloths and use only cloths spun with cotton. everybody kept fire to their fancy synthetic cloths and wore cotton cloths.
Mahathma influenced epole with his life as an example. He did every thing what he was expecting from public. Our politicians have to learn many thing from him to keep our nation unit and strong.
Gandhi was strong person and had healthy lifestyle throughout his life. I always wonder and wanted to ask him that being a very slender person, how could he walk in such a speed miles together. He always prefered to walk for miles when he has to attend public meatings. He started and participated many sathyagrahas to solve problems. He was pure vegitarian and he lived many days with only goat milk. He lived very simple life; waring only cotton dhoti without shirt and never lived luxurious life.
Finally to conclude, I would like to meet him and want to share his experiences as freedom fighter with nonviolence as a powerful weapon. I want to know his principles to influence people and have healthy lifestyle.
