TOEFL Speaking Mentor PLUS has just been added as an optional add-on to the regular TOEFL Speaking Mentor program.
 
I've added this because a lot of people have asked me for specific detailed feedback for their responses, that can be delivered quickly and privately.
 
I already score all responses in TOEFL Speaking Mentor every TUESDAY, but understandably some people want more specific feedback and advice about their speaking. Now they can enroll in the special TOEFL Speaking Mentor PLUS add-on and get precisely that - for just one particular response or 6 responses.
 
Only available to people already subscribed as TOEFL Speaking Mentor regulars - you'll find links and details inside your private membership page.

Some people have contacted me asking where to find their scores for the latest round of my scoring for all responses in each of the six question types...
 
Okay - it's actually reasonably simple...
 
In the recording thread for any given question, go along and find your recording. Your recording will have a number (they go in order in the thread, from 01 through to whichever recording is last).
 
To find my recording and listing of scores - look for "Jason" - my icon is the RISE yellow and blue shield (same as you can see here in the forum). For the most recent scores listings, you can see a post there from me at the end of the thread. Go to that recording, press play, and click on the orange [+] box to open the textbox. If you do that, you'll see recording numbers and scores next to them.
 
For example (my most recent for Question type 6):
 
[014] – 3.0, [015] – 2.5, [016] – 2.5, [017] – 2.5,
[018] – 2.5, [019] – 2.0, [020] – 2.0, [021] – 2.5,
[022] – 2.5, [023] – 2.0, [024] – 4.0, [025] – 3.5,
[026] – 3.0, [027] – 3.0, [028] – 3.0, [029] – 3.5,
[030] – 3.0, [031] – 3.5, [032] – 3.0, [033] – 3.0,
[034] – 2.5, [035] – 2.5
 
The number in [square brackets] is the recording number (you'll need to check and see which number in the thread yours is), the number after the dash – is the score for that recording (out of 4 according to the TOEFL speaking rubrics).
 
I often record some general impressions and tips as well, based on some patterns I've been noticing across everyone's responses.
 
The key things are:
1. Take note of the number of your recording in the sequence of posts
2. Every Tuesday, check for my RISE blue and yellow shield icon at the end of the sequence, go to it and press play, and open the text box to see the scores listed in the same order as the recorded submissions
 
Does it make sense now? Hope so, and apologies to anyone who found it initially confusing!

Quick update for TOEFL speaking Mentor subscribers!

I have updated some of the test questions in your browser: there are now new tasks to try for questions 3 and 5 in tests 2 and 3.

Also, due to a lot of demand from students, I am now offering live 1-1 classes for people who want direct live tutoring from me. Details and sign up procedures are available in your TOEFL speaking mentor private portal.

TOEFL Speaking Mentor price will increase to $25 USD per month from November 1st (if you already subscribed at a cheaper price earlier, you will continue to be charged at the same price you first signed up for - that's your special reward for signing up early!).

Part of the reason for this is the huge amount of extra material I have progressively added to the service, AND the fact that so many people are reporting high scores in speaking as a result of this service.

Remember that investing in your TOEFL preparation is an investment in the chance for a better score, and a particular score could change your whole future! Are you going to hunt forever for free materials and hints and risk getting the best possible preparation for you future???

There are a couple of days left if you want to get the service at the bargain price of $12 USD per month, but you'll need to hurry!

Check your mail again - you should have received a mail from me asking you to select your own user name and password so that I can program your page.

If it's not in your inbox - check your spam file. Otherwise, send an email to me directly, quoting your subscription number, your preferred User Name, preferred Password, and the ID you intend to use in Voxopop.
