Any human being who comes in this world lives his or her life according to the circumstances they are provided with. It has been well said that “Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have thrust of greatness upon them”. Wherever a person is born, irrespective of any cast, creed, religion, sex or country he/she belongs to the person definitely sets some goal for the future as per their experiences in the life. My aim in life is to go for a higher degree course i.e. PhD in biological field. This is my reason for attending the university. Other people might have various other reasons.

The first and foremost reason I think people choose to attend a college is the thirst for higher knowledge. Since my childhood, I and my siblings have been brought up in a society where only the highly educated people live a successful life. Besides this I along with my other siblings and parents used to have a lot of discussion over our studies, even the games we played or the major things we did one way or the other included the study matter itself. We used to solve puzzles and enjoyed setting questions for others and especially science was the main interest for all of us. Somewhere this has influenced me a lot to pursue such a career in my life.

The second reason for attending the university for me would be a good earning. After attaining a highest degree from a renowned university it will be easier for me to get a good job and thereby a good earning plus a noble profession in the society. I feel this is more than enough a person can think of for a good livelihood.

Yet there might be one more reason for some people to attend the college or university. Some class conscious people do send their children forcibly for higher education. The children brought in such type of environment are no better than the hooligans. Such people join the institutions just for the time pass. They are interested in some other things rather than acquiring knowledge and experience.

Briefly, attending a university can provide us with almost everything knowledge, experience, name and fame. But it is not like that each and every person in the society is supposed to go for a higher education. It always depends on the stage, circumstances and interests of an individual.

overall its good, you didnt answer the question specifically, i mean the first two paragraphs were fine, its just the last one you introduced new idea. I think that in this topic you should state only one opinion and specify in three paragraphs why do you think people attend college. You said its desire to obtain knowledge in order to succeed in career. this is the main idea, then you make details out of this idea and explain why did you choose this idea and give some supporting detailes.
your language is good, watch articles though i think you overdone them.

i think 4 maybe 3.5
by the way what is your specialisation in biology?

People attend college or university for many different reasons. Some attend them to get more knowledge and for some it is for career preparation. Very few people attend college or university because of their family's demand.

I think most people attend university or college to increase their knowledge because knowledge is the basis for everything. To be qualified for a particular job, like engineering or medicine, a person need education for that field. For example if two persons applied for the same post, company will hire the one with more education than other. So in other words increased education is basically for career preparation.

Secondly, when a person attends the college or university he or she got new experiences. There are chances to meet new peoples and make new friends, that increase their social circle and they become more socialised, which is also important for successful career. For example if a person got new job but he /she is not much social person than it will be difficult for him/her to be successful in their job .To be successful they should work as a team and for team work being a social person is very important.

In conclusion, I think knowledge is the main reason to attend college or university, as it is the basis to get good job and to be successful person in life.

plz rate this.

Although, not all people are willing to get into colleges or universities, it is obvious that most people want to gain higher education if possible. From my own perspective, there are several reasons for this tendency.

First of all, with higher education, people can have more job opportunities. As this modern society requires high skills and specialized knowledge, most companies want to have highly educated employers. Moreover, it is well known that there are salary gabs in regarding with the final educations of workers even with the same period of experiences. From my own experience, after my sister was graduated from high school, she got the very low wage even though she worked very hard. In contrast, I got the better salary because of my degree at university.

Secondly, the higher education people have, the more they are likely to be respected. Although this is a tendency which should not be taken for granted, it is absolutely true that people tend to admire those who achieve higher educations. As it is natural that everyone wants to be respectful by others, people, nowadays, are eager to learn more and get higher degrees in colleges or universities.

Finally, everyone has a dream, and with higher educations, people have more chances to achieve their dreams. This is also the result of the trend of modern societies. However, it is true that when people are more knowledgeable of their desired subjects, they are more likely to come closer to their goals. Therefore, undoubtedy, people try to get in to colleges or universities in order to come true their dreams.

Thus, generally speaking, the opportunities of emplyment tend to grow with higher education. Moreover, people who have higer education tend to be respected more. As well as this, people can approach their dreams better by attending college or university. For there reasons, I reckon that this tendency is prevelent in this modern society.
