   It is very hard to be a good parent. Some people neglect the fact that parenting should be taught and studied. People think that parenting comes naturally, and that they don’t have to do anything to raise a child. “All they need is love” parents say. However as the years pass, looking at their child parents realize how many mistakes they made. People have to learn how to be good parents and raise good offspring.

    Parenting should include the ability to learn during parenting and be flexible. They should listen to other wiser and older people with respectful experience. Before having baby a couple should consult with specialists and educate themselves. Read particular literature on the subject. Being a parent requires responsibility, tolerance and ability to adapt to any circumstances.

   Good parent should never scream at his/her child no matter what, on the contrary he/she should explain the child what he has done and why is it bad. If a child is little and doesn’t understand the talk, parent should either spank him lightly or put child to timeout. Of course, it is easier to scream and beat the child when he misbehaves, but this child would grow wounded and hurt. Circumstances that took place during our childhood, directly affect our lives today. Consequently, parents, their actions and attitudes toward us define who we are and what we do.

   Good parents should teach appropriate values, morale and discipline. Those values that we learn mold our personality and character. In our country, we say that children are the faces of their parents.

When one is arranging marriage, he is to look at her/his parents to make sure he made a good choice. I think that being a parent takes a lot of energy and patience. Some people have trouble dealing with their children when they want to play and being grumpy.  My cousin always looses temper and raises voice to her children when they ask to play with them. When she is very tired, she ignores them and goes to sleep. If they wake her up, she yells at them and hits them. I don’t understand her, we have a lot of conflicts on this matter.

      Finally, good parent is a parent who is determined to raise a good person that deserves to be a part of society and ready to help people.
